Tartar
Tartars are considered the barbarians of the known world, probably due to their nomadic life style and their habbit of dressing in furs and settling disagreements in a fight. They are the second most common of the human races. Tartars posses a vocal-based society and do not believe in writing. Their society is very untrusting of any magics other than Clerical or Shamanic, as they see them as coming from the person themselves, rather than from a higher being. The majority of the race lives in a clan based society on the plains of Tartaria, moving with their herds of horses and cattle in great nomadic clans. Generally, these clans keep to their own territories and do not take kindly to "outsiders" tresspassing on their lands. Thankfully, due to the recent death of Salamander - who had taken over one of the Tartar clans and then set about uniting the rest of the clans and making war upon the rest of the world - Tartaria has settled back into its old lifestyle. Krieg, former Guildmaster of the AAG and head of Clan Dragon, is making sure that Tartaria's clans stay disunited, and has reinstated the "nameless" clan - whom Salamander had completely destroyed - in their position as the "police" of Tartaria.
Few Tartars leave, but those that do go off to seek adventure, and whatever else takes their fancy, however the 'civilised' races tend to look down on them. The avarage life expectancy of a Tartar is 45 - before they get "slow" and die in battle.
