Shari Stern
Born in Nedlund, to a Street Whore Mother and unknown Father, Shari Stern never really had much of what one would call a conventional family. Her Mother died while she was still very young, and although she was taken in and raised by her various `aunts` amongst her mother's fellow whores, Shari had very little childhood, as she had to pay her way through working anyway she could, which often meant selling herself or engaging in crime to survive. Never particularly popular in her town - due to her nearly human appearance - Shari is not pure human, but as the goblin, fire elf, and troll blood are so faint, most of her fellow street kids looked down on her as looking more Baylisian than Nedlundian. Shari, on the other hand, is firmly of the opinion that Pure Bloods are stuck up, and not worth bothering with, although she has learned to get along with them during her travels.
Growing up as one of the outcasts among the street kids, she grew defensive, and also very protective of other kids who were shoved to the outskirts, for being weak, ailing, or crippled. Always quick to leap to their defence, Shari would often take a beating for them, although those who administered said beatings somehow ended up crippled or dead shortly after, through ostensible accidents. At seventeen-ish, she left her hometown, due to politics having flared up again, and struck out for pastures new, passing quickly through the south-western border of Tartaria to the Middle Kingdoms, and then eventually ending up in Aberddu, where she found many difficulties in getting by, but really couldn’t be bothered to keep travelling. Her first stop in the city was the temple, and there she asked about where she could find work, and laid an offering on the alter to her aspect. Having had to whore herself several times on her journey anyway, she had no problems with working at The Duchess' Pleasure. After hearing many tales of the Adventurers Guild over the weeks, and with encouragement from Iona, she decided to have a look and see if she would fit in there, although keeping the work at The Duchess' Pleasure.
Her idea of diplomacy is to try and talk the opponent down, then revert to her Troll blood, and hit them till they either do what she wants, or stop twitching.
And if that fails, and they start hitting back hard; run away.
On her first Guild Night, she recieved a blessing and confirmation of her path from her Aspect.
Although Shari is perfectly happy to heal any member of the Guild, there is one exception to this rule... She is quite firmly of the opinion that someone who tries to kill you is definitely off the healing list. Shari doesn't know exactly why Rikku wants her dead for being who and what she is, but she doesn't really care either. Life is danger, and someone is always trying to kill you.
She tends to save her rather long and overly complicated full name (and variations thereof) for formal occasions.
Since joining the Guild, Shari has been to Paravel to watch some nobles fight over possession of a body - literally, gone on a Rum run in the Sunset Isles for the Cult of the Wyld and the Mages Guild, and taken a wander through the tests of a Death Temple dedicated to Kali - which resulted in Vilet, a goblin who she had come to think of as a surrogate little sister, losing some of her trust for Shari, following an incident with memory loss, sleeping potion and Irrisitible Pain.
Shari has returned to the Guildhouse after a busy summer to find that she is now third in charge. As ever when it comes to healing the Guild, she will do her best and protect their interests where she can.
