Not much is known about Rikku except that she does not remember her life. All she remembers were events that happened 2 months before she joined the guild.
During her stay with the Aberddu Adventurers guild, minor memories began to jog her memory about her past in her dreams.
After fighting side by side with the guild during the battle in Anevald, her emotions began to change. She soon realised, instead of searching for her past, she should start a new beginning with the guild; become stronger, protect her friends, the people she cares about. However, in the last battle, her fighting skills meant nothing, she was defenceless, useless. Soon as she fell, the Black Inquisitor slowly walked towards her, smiled, and healed her head. The moment of excruciating pain was blinding. But she stood up, full of increased anger, and did everything in her power to knock her enemies away, trying to play her part.
On the return to Aberddu, her anger did not fade away. Kenshiro found that she was pit tainted from being healed by the Black Inquisitor. He took her to August where Rikku was soon cleansed...the Sea God way. Kenshiro did not leave her side.
She was never meant to love or feel love. Nor does she understand it. But the day in Anevald, and the days afterwards changed her life. However, the feeling of being defenceless and useless without magic in a fight, frustrated her.
After seeing Gizelle use her spells of protection, Rikku knew what her next step would be.
During a guild night, she was confronted by her past, or at least presumed past. A nipponese orc by the name of Takeshi Gaiak, proclaimed that he knew who she was and swore fealty to her. Telling her that her real name is Mitsuko Eru he explains that she was an asassain and follower of Keesoth.
In her disbelief of these words she tried to contact Keesoth and also made an appointment with the High Priest, but alas to no avail. The High Priest explained if Rikku was of the chosen, she would know by now.
Her travel to find the Enigma followers turned her life around as she became enlightened by the followers of the Aesthetics to accept who she is and find inner peace.
Soon after, she traveled to Nippon to come face to face with her past to find answers. Possibly for the last time. She asked the locals but no-one had heard of a Mitsuku Eru or Takeshi Gaiak. The Eru family had not heard of either of them either. She requested a meeting with the emperor of nippon, showing her symbol given to her by Kenshiro before Anevald. However she only got to see one of the Emperor's aids who told her that he did not no who Misuku Edu was and soon asked her to leave the premises and Nippon by the end of the week. Confused, Rikku thought about the name again. Had she misheard the name?
She asked a passer by if they had heard of a "Mitsuku Edo", and he turned away in disgust and ran off....oh.... She tried to catch up with him, but he vanished, out of sight. Knowing she could not come back to Nippon, she felt that she had failed her mission during her stay.
To remember the beauty of nippon she took a few pieces with her. Two katanas and a baby cherry blossom tree. On the boat back to Nippon, she etched momentos one both. one to represent her assumed past, one to represent her current future.
Angered and unsatisfied by her findings, hating the annoyance of gods and how they use their followers, she swore to not let anything get in her way. She is a Mercinery and a Protector. No questions asked.
As time passes, new guild members join, one in particular is Rikku's complete opposite. A keesothian whore.....
The one thing that disgusts her the most about this person is.... she had a choice, and she chose to be the very thing that Rikku hated most...
