Law

There are various beliefs in how Law should be applied to the world, and the followers of this God and its aspects can be as diverse as they come. Retribution followers believe in punishing those who have done wrong, while the followers of Order attempt to maintain the status quo. Others are devoted to the ideals of Justice and bringing it to those who have been victims of the enemies of Law, though this is often their own brand of justice.

Law followers dislike seeing people flagrantly disregard any law, but they don’t have to be overly obsessed with a particular set of Laws - they worship Law in Nature, and see how everything naturally has it’s own laws that they follow asked or not. There are patterns in everything, obvious to those who look, and these patterns can be followed to find an answer to anything. They can be very involved with city law, but this is not always the case.

Aspects

Order

Followers of this aspect believe in maintaining the status quo of the world, and are possibly the most fervent believers in the actual written Law. Order is an appealing aspect to people who believe that the world has a very solid set of rules. While the entirety of Law is opposed to Chaos, Order by its very nature is possibly its greatest enemy.

Justice

Those who follow the aspect of Justice attempt, in their daily lives, to combat injustice wherever they may find it. Justice followers attempt to help maintain a personal balance in peoples lives; where wrongs have been committed, followers of this aspect will attempt, with the best of their abilities, to right them.

Retribution

Punishment for those who have committed a crime; that is the way of Retribution, and its followers consider it their duty to deliver it. Whether this is a fair or disproportionate action is usually up for debate.

Sects and Cults of Law

There are two sects of Law currently known and active in the world.

Unnamed Sect of Aberddu

The initial group of Law followers who followed Jonah Lestyrian in his supposed heresy and attempts to provoke the Law Temple into action rather than let them stagnate. All are considered heretics by the Temple, but they are still active throughout the city, doing their best to hold to their duty and uphold the spirit rather than the letter.

The Children of Duty

Another group who believe in the spirit of Law rather than the written word, they followed the example set by Jonah Lestyrian of Aberddu in his attempts to spur Law followers into action. Formerly known as the Jonahite Brotherhood. Known to be active in Paravel.
