Born and raised in Aberddu, Karowyn was born to a father from Aberddu, and a mother from Elven Woods. Ironically, she grew up down the street from the Adventurers Guild, but never thought to join them.

When the Frizian invasion began, her family fled, but only Karowyn and her father made it out alive. They went to Albion, lived there until events in Aberddu stabilised, and went home. Sadly, the grief and memories of all the family and friends he had lost, drove her father insane. When her maternal aunt arrived from Elven Woods, she helped Karowyn put her father in the asylum, and took her back to Elven Woods, to live with family and recover from her own grief. Karowyn found Elven Woods dreary and boring, and left for Aberddu after a few months, although she did get some scout training while she was there.

On her journey, Karowny met Lasia and Thega, both of whom were going to Aberddu. Upon hearing of their plans to join the Aberddu Adventurers Guild, Karowyn replied "Why didnt I think of that?" and decided to join up as well.
