When she arrived at the guild in furs and carrying a stolen necklace, she was a far cry from what she was to become. Iona (the oldest of four sisters) came from a turbulent clan in the Elven Forest. After leaving suddenly in the middle of the night, she negotiated her way across the continent slowly - and ended up in Kchon after 10 years on the road. Trading in 'expendible comodities' she knew she would never be destitute.

She left Kchon and travelled to Aberddu primarily with the intention of joining the Thieves Guild only to find that they had been disbanded not a month before her arrival. She joined the Adventures Guild out of desperation.

Her main drives were power and money - she became a follower of Kesoth and then a noted member of the Ghost Guild of Aberddu - the reformed Theives Guild - one of the few members to hold rank as a member of the Shadow Walkers.

She is vehemently anti frisian and was willing to risk her life for the cause. In this way she met and fell in love with (against huge odds) Dakarn Pringle Trickster Preist. They married at the beginning of the summer of fire. Six weeks later, Pringle died on a mission to Kill Salamander. Iona was (as still is) heart broken. She then discovered that she was pregnant and realising it was the only chance she would ever get kept her baby - a girl born in March and called Rosemary Iona Pringle - she means the world to her mother.

Iona now lives in her house alone although she has tried to seduce/marry just about every member of the Guild and was engaged briefly to Mordred. She is often out of town visiting her best friend Morwenna on her trade caravan - Morwenna is a 'colleague' and rosemary's godmother.
