From a young age, Eldoth had seemed ready for a life in service to Knowledge. A native of Aberddu, his parents were wealthy enough to pay for education in the Temple, and the young Eldoth quickly recognised his apparent calling, eventually becoming a priest in training. The destruction of Knowledge in 1102 ac changed all this. With the brothers of Erudition having sealed themselves within the Temple, Eldoth was left at a loss as to the wisest course of action. Although he had not yet learned to channel the divine power of Knowledge, he still felt its loss, and with no guidance felt a rising anger at the events that robbed him of his God. In time, this anger turned to a desire for justice; a crime had been committed, and it must be punished, even if the offender happened to be a God. Late in 1103, Eldoth presented himself to the Temple of Law, and once again began training as a priest. By the time this training was completed, he had become truly dedicated to his new god, and his initial motivations were forgotten for the while. The next couple of years were spent in service to Law, with Eldoth finding a role within the Temple as a scholar of sorts, studying the various laws that exist, both in Aberddu and elsewhere, so as to better apply justice. He is a great believer in following the spirit of the law rather than the letter; the written texts all too often contradict themselves, and Eldoth knows that by selectively drawing upon them one can apply punishment as and when it is needed, as opposed to merely following the standard procedures. He tries not to do this too often though.

Wanting to help with the escalating Frisyan problem, Eldoth joined the Adventurer’s Guild in 1107, and has sought to use his clerical powers to aid the city as a whole. As a part of this, he joined up with Abatha Valdes to provide healing to any who needed it over the winter, and is a little bemused to find they have acquired a bodyguard of sorts in the shape of Helga Oakenshield, although with the end of the fighting in most of the city this arrangement has seemingly come to an end. Prior to the summer of 1108, Eldoth had never actually been on a job directly opposing the Frisyans, with his journeys instead taking him to the Middle Kingdoms and elsewhere. It was on one of these missions that he encountered two elderly priests of Knowledge, who he vowed to return to at least once a year until their death. At the same time he acquired the Book of Questions, the existance of which is by now a fairly open secret within the guild, despite Eldoth's concerns for its safety. The Book, believed to be an artifact of the Enigmas, will answer any question put to it, though admittadly the answers are often fairly vague. More worryingly for Eldoth, the book has now started asking him questions...

Eldoth was part of the AAG mission into frysia in August 1108, and formed part of the group that retreived the scroll required to kill the Black Inquisitor. For much of the evening Eldoth was tasked with looking after the scroll, which he did so until asked to give it to the protection of those guildmembers unable to fight outside due to an infection. Eldoth passed it to Jonah, who gave it to Arkhan, who gave it to Theodore. Theodore chose this point to reveal himself as a Frysian traitor, portalling away and taking the scroll with him, to the shock and dismay of the guild. Having looked after the scroll for so long, Eldoth was particularly shaken by this, feeling it was his fault for following orders and not trusting his better judgement. The next morning he formed part of the attack on Anoveld, and was instrumental in the slaying of the Black Inquisitor when he, Jonah and Abatha took advantage of the distraction the rest of the guild were providing outside and hacked the man apart.

In October of 1108, Eldoth, along with Ashanti, Elmo and Scrap, was seemingly killed by a strange mist through which a ghostly army marched, to the extent that the priests of life declared his soul to have passed on. Although he somehow recovered a day later, it is apparent that the event has left him shaken, and as of yet he has not spoken of what he experienced. Soon afterwards he was one of the 167 members of the Temple of Law who stood alongside Jonah in denouncing the inaction of the temple, urging that the followers of Law take a more active role within the city. As a result, he and the other 'heretics' were barred from the Temple, as the superiors had evidently decided the best way to deal with a problem was to ignore it. Since then, Eldoth has established a small shrine to Law near his family home in Aberddu, within which he can often be found sitting and asking people questions of a philosopical nature, as he attempts to piece together what role the gods wish him to play.
