Dreg was born to a tartar female and a troll called Blorg in a cave on the outskirts of Tartaria. His father was a bandit, and his violent ways caused Dreg's mother to flee into the wilderness. After Blorg mistreated Dreg and nearly killed him with a flaming brand for not being what he deemed strong, Dreg went berserk for the first time and accidentally killed his father, though he did not know it at the time, and escaped into the plains of Tartaria.

After wandering for a long time, starved almost to the point of death, Dreg came across the small village of Clan Boar. Despite nearly collapsing, he demanded food, and when forcefully made to leave, he even lashed out. Admiring Dreg's gusto, the clan chief had Dreg kept alive, and allowed him to join the clan. Unfortunately, though gaining grudging repsect, Dreg was not well liked by the clan due to their isolated attitudes against half-breeds and outsiders in general. Dreg eventually decided he'd outstayed his welcome and left the clan at the age of 17. He left Tartaria, and after guarding merchant caravans, he ended up in Aberddu, and joined the guild.

Originally he joined for money but when he gained faith in Amroth after training with Zeva at their temple he has since remained in the guild to be a hero instead. Since being in the Guild Dreg was made a member of the elite greenskin unit, the Redskulls (and therefoere trained at Blug's warrior school, gaining occasional bursts of super strength as a result), he accidentally gained two fan clubs, one from Greenland and one in Aberddu, and he had died twice yet still continued to remain in the material plane. After being in the Guild for over a year he was also taught the basics of evoker magic by the powerful dwarf evoker, Misty, in order to control his phobia of fire caused by the beating of the flaming brand when he was younger. After being able to utilise his magics for almost a year, he was now growing more comfortable with fire. After visiting a tribe of very spiritual half-trolls in Nortroll they have convinced him that the cause of his fear of fire was also the moment of his blessing by fire, which was why he did not die at that moment, and why he can cast evoker magics. He is not sure whether to believe if he is fused with a 'fire spirit' like they claim, but he was beginning to believe that what they believe as a spirit's blessing is in fact Amroth's, a way of channelling his rage against evil that is more appropriate to him than a cleric's magic. A member of this tribe was Bran, who breifly visited the Guild and took him to the tribe and Nortroll in the first place. He began to vdevelop strong feelings for the female half-troll, which eventually became love.

On odd occasions, in honour of his dead friend Zavok who came up with the idea, Dreg would occasionally masquerade as the 'Amrothian fisherman and Ninja', as well as self-proclaimed 'Master of Disguise', known as Deathgrip Handmaster. Most people with any intelligence new it was Dreg having a joke, but eventually, the joke ended when his mask fell off in battle, and he ripped out the brain of the opposing ninja.

When William Freemonte, the chosen of Amroth, was reported slain Dreg began recieving memories that weren't his, and was recieved vivid flashbacks of his own memories that he had pushed aside, concerning Freemonte. After 'remembering' an event in Freemonte's past, he journeyed to Pass Fort, not really knowing why. There he discovered Freemonte's sword which had been thrust into a stone. Dreg pulled the sword from the ground, despite the fact that apparently only the Demon Slayer of Amroth could lift the sword. His next vision drew him to Meridian, the Middle Kingdom filled with Amrothians and Iceni in particular. There he discovered a throne with a scabbard in one arm into which he thrust the sword. The next moment he found himself a mile away from Meridian, unable to remember the past that led him to the spot. Eventually, his memory was regained; when the sword was placed in the scabbard it exploded in a white light that touched the three Iceni in the room. He was informed that now a third of the Iceni had now recieved the Demon Slayer role. So where did that leave him?

Over the next few months, he came to believe that he was the Chosen of Amroth, though he recieved no definite answer to confirm this. The temples subservience and respect to him, along with the many visions and blessings he has recieved appear to confirm his status in his mind, however. His soul was also described as shining white by his friend Elavern.

The most recent and physically apparent change Dreg experienced in his later time in the Guild was his armoured scales. These were not of divine or magical consequence, they were instead acquired when he ate an alchemical sweet with a shield symbol upon it. The creator was not sure what it did, but when faced with a Keesoth avatar and what he saw as his probable death, Dreg took the sweet anyway, gaining his scales permanently as a result. It turned out that Dreg and his companions did all nearly face death except for the fleeing George, but when the avatar ritualled Dreg the magic was countered by Amroth's will and Dreg was healed and awoke instantly very angry, and thus he destroyed the avatar.

By the time of the Dawn of Darkness, Dreg had been Champion of the Guild for a year, though he held the position briefly before.

He was not happy with the position, but during the events of that summer finally learned to take charge in combat, after giving the position to Major Smith, who abruptly left Middendorf, forcing him to tkae charge again. Due to his tactics and uniting the Guild together in an attack, the creature the Frisians had been using as the Scathach was defeated.

Dreg died the next day (in fact his third death due to two previous ressurections), covering the retreat of several Guild members himself, giving of his life to save them.

What happened to his body is unknown, so though he has one more possible resurrection, it has not yet occurred.

When he died he went to Valheim, to discover that he was not in fact Amroth's chosen, but had become so fervent in his belief that he was, that he had gained Amroth's favour and occasional intervention. He was given his own table in the Feast Hall in Valheim, allowed whatever food, drink and guests he wants at it.

On the Night of Masks after his death, Dreg returned for his final farewell. A messenger came into the guild for Dreg; he was a member of Bran's tribe. The messenger was sad to discover that he was talking to a ghost, telling Dreg that he had been looking for him since the summer, to tell him that he had a baby.

After fainting twice and coming to his senses eventually, Dreg discovered the child was a boy, and said that it was to be called Dreg.

Dreg also discovered that Farquad's House of Ribs, after his death, now sells the Meatwich Dreg Special in his honour. There is also now a Trollball tournament team known as Team Dreg Dreg Dreg (the number of Dregs changes every time they say it though.)
