Second son of Lord Eithel Teldarin, the Duke of Hardruan and younger brother to Elavern Teldarin, Desin has had an affinity for corruption and destruction from a young age. The brothers would often fight as children, as when Elavern would tend and grow a plant, like as not Desin would attempt to grind, burn or otherwise kill it.
One day, Desin discovered a text reporting on a religion which believed that as the world continues, all things die and that the right and proper fate of all things is to entropically die, break down and scatter until everything is evenly spread and has an equal amount of power. He decided that this fitted his personal philosophy perfectly, and promptly burned the book. As soon as he was old enough, Desin sought out the Chaos temple in the Elven Forest and began to study his obsession in earnest.
Eventually, Desin decided that to be of best effect in furthering the progression of entropy, he should find the most volatile, disruptive group of people possible, and try to point them toward anything they might possibly be persuaded to break. He decided that the Aberddu Adventurers' Guild would be the perfect place to start, and booked passage on a large trading ship, who were only too happy to have a sane-sounding chaos cleric aboard.
Once the last traces of the vessel had sunk into the Aberddu harbour and the dock fires were out, Desin reported in to the Chaos temple and then sought out the Adventurers. He was delighted to find that his brother was an honoured member, but horrified that he still practised the heretical life-giving shamanic arts. Even worse, when Elavern died in battle, he was repeatedly resurrected both to life and undeath, on different occasions. When Elavern was finally laid to rest, Desin had never felt more proud of his brother. Bold text
