Arkhan was born on the 28th of November 1079 to Hera Merriks, a powerful cleric of Knowledge and a man whose name Hera was forbidden to ever mention to her son. The instant Arkhan was born Hera had a vision from Knowledge, and three weeks later she left him at the temple of Amroth, along with a bag filled with runes she had carved herself. The note she left told only of her child's name, her name and that he was destined to be a servant of Amroth. And so Arkhan does not know of the three visions that Hera has had over the years foretelling of how he is to die. The final thing told within the letter was that Arkhan would know the day of his death when the name of Amroth is given to him by the runes, and so Arkhan casts six runes from his bag every morning to see if it is the day he dies.
Arkhan adheres to a strict code of honour, forbidding him to attack unarmed combatants, regardless of whether they are skilled brawlers or not, unless of course they are demons or undead. He adheres to his code of honour rigidly and will only bend it at the behest of his goddess, Amroth.
Arkhan joined the militia during the summer of 1105 AC. and later joined the Adventurer's Guild in March of 1107 AC. After the disbanding of the Militia he became a teacher of military procedure at the Eton-Smythe Academy, and was placed as Commander of its security personnel.
Fought with great valour at the battle of the Aberddu docklands where he followed a Greater Avatar of Amroth into the heart of a pit gate and fought bravely alongside Edward deBriee and Jup, But during the battle he was caught in an explosion of fire created by a large snake-like demon and was horribly burnt shielding a fellow Amrothian, the fire not only burnt him but tainted his body, and thusly he cannot enter holy ground. As his burns slowly heal the Taint in his body slowly heals too, and it will be a long recovery. He soon after helped protect a village from being slaughtered by the frysians. During the following meeting of the Guild, Arkhan, along with Fenn were blessed in person by Amroth. A few months later, Arkhan, along with Bly, Jonah and Kakita were sent on a mission deep into Frysia, to intercept an important document bound for the Black Inquisitor from Anoveld.
A month later, Arkhan was sent into the Elven Hills to help retrieve information on how to stop the Black Inquisitor, and while there he was married to one of the women of a village in a fertility rite, after accidentally becoming the village champion.
Blessed many times during the effort to kill the Black Inquisitor, including glowing with holy light as Amroth removed a desecration cast upon him. During the battle Arkhan sacrificed himself by switching the binding of a demon from the Black Inquisitor to himself, knowing that when the demon was defeated he would die with it. Arkhan struck the final blow against the demon, and as it detonated his soul was torn from his body, taken by the demon into the hellish underworld of the Pit. Posthumously elevated to the status of Paladin of Amroth.
