Geography and Population
A powerful industrial nation, Albion borders Aberddu and the Elven Kingdoms to the north and has access to the Eastern continent across the Sea of Stars. Bordered almost entirely by sea, Albion is synonymous with sea faring. The population is large and predominately composed of Pureblood humans, although there is a healthy mix of other races such as Dwarves and Elves who share the same status and priveleges as the pureblood population. The current capital is Londinum, a young city in a rich state where the variation of life is preserved. The Queen and her council reside in this province also. Albion has a total of eleven provinces, each ruled democratically by a Lord. Each county is headed by a Baron, and each village governed by a Major. This feudal culture prides itself on its forward thinking outlook. Titles are not necessarily hereditary, dependent on local tradition they may pass on to those of the best ability or social status. Inspite of this strict social structure, the vast bulk of the population are in fact peasantry.
Politics and History
Historically, this well respected Monarchy has been involved in world politics, and has fought jealously with other world powers to protect and expand its borders. It has built its reputation as a world power over the years, and its history is inextricably link with its military prowess. As a major player on the world stage for centuries, the agenda of the Albion Court has shaped not only the present Albion but also the fortunes of countries such as Tartaria, Paravel and Frisia. Albion has also had its share of political attacks, the Court has been frequently infiltrated by spies. Turbulence has also come from within, in the form of scheming nobility who sought to topple each other and on some occasions the Monarch. In the late part of the 11th century, the Black Wolf of Albion used powerful magic to overthrow Queen Freya. The attempt was almost successful. It was during shortly after this dark time that the old capital Auborn fell, to be replaced by the new and vibrant Londinium.
Military
As an historically aggressive nation, Albion’s Army and Navy are world renowned. Albion’s fleet of battleships is envied by every seafaring nation on Urdd for its elegance and power. There are also many well reputed branches of the Army, most notably the Queen’s Guard. The Queen’s Guard are some of the best trained soldiers in World, who have risen to the height of their calling. To be a member of the Albion Queen’s Guard is a distinction that is respected by the ruling classes of every civilised nation.
